Getting around the vast deserts of Arrakis in Dune: Awakening can be a real challenge. A vehicle like the Sandbike makes exploration, looting, and resource gathering far more efficient. While crafting one requires valuable materials and time, there’s a great early-game shortcut—a free Sandbike you can claim with no crafting required.
Here’s where to find it and what to expect before you ride off into the dunes.
Free Sandbike Location
To score this free ride, head to the Vermillius Gap region. While it’s a bit of a trek—especially if you don’t already have a vehicle—it’s absolutely worth it. Whether you’re looking for your first Sandbike or want a backup vehicle, this is the place to go.
Make your way to The Anvil tradepost, located in Eastern Vermillius Gap.

Look for the parking garage—you’ll recognize it by the holographic projection of a Sandbike and several parked player vehicles nearby.

Claiming the Free Sandbike
Head inside the structure. Among the bikes, you should spot an unclaimed Sandbike tucked away, usually near the half-built one.
Even if some bikes appear already taken or damaged, check closely—on some servers, an unused one spawns regularly. It may not be in perfect condition, but it’s functional enough to get you started.

While not in perfect conidition it could be far worse, nothing a welding tool and some welding wire can’t fix.

Final Thoughts
Snagging a free Sandbike early on can save you hours of grinding and materials, giving you a major edge in exploring Arrakis. Whether you’re solo or running with a crew, mobility is everything—and this ride gets you one step closer to surviving the harsh desert and thriving in Dune: Awakening.
