In Dune: Awakening, your character’s inventory can feel quite limited — capped at 175 volume and 35 item slots. Some items stack, but many do not, making it tough to carry everything you gather during mining runs, combat, or exploration.
While you can’t directly increase your character’s base inventory, there are several ways to dramatically boost your carrying capacity using vehicles and storage modules. These upgrades can make farming, looting, and transporting resources far more efficient and profitable.
🛠️ Craft or Claim a Sandbike

The Sandbike MK1 is the first vehicle you’ll unlock. After researching the Sandbike and Vehicle Fabricator via the research menu, you’ll be able to build both the vehicle and its inventory module.
This module adds significant additional carrying capacity:
- Sandbike Inventory MK1 – 250 Volume, 10 Item Slots
- Sandbike Inventory MK2 – 250 Volume, 15 Item Slots

🚙 Craft or Claim a Buggy

The Buggy offers much larger inventory upgrades than the Sandbike. Even the entry-level Buggy Storage MK3 massively expands your haul capacity.
Here’s a breakdown of Buggy storage options:
- Buggy Storage MK3 – 1500 Volume, 20 Item Slots
- Buggy Storage MK4 – 2000 Volume, 20 Item Slots
- Buggy Storage MK5 – 2500 Volume, 20 Item Slots
- Buggy Storage MK6 – 3000 Volume, 20 Item Slots

✈️ Craft or Purchase a Scout Ornithopter

The Scout Ornithopter is more expensive to craft but adds a major advantage: flight. While it offers less raw storage than the Buggy or Sandbike, its mobility can drastically reduce travel time when moving loot back to your base.
Storage module options include:
- Scout Ornithopter Storage MK4 – 500 Volume, 10 Item Slots
You can either craft these or purchase all parts — including the storage module — from the either faction vendor..
🧭 Final Thoughts
Although your base inventory in Dune: Awakening can’t be upgraded, combining the right vehicles and storage modules lets you carry far more resources and loot. Whether you prefer speed, space, or mobility, these tools are essential for efficient farming and long-haul transport across Arrakis.
